Asus Republic of Gamers (ROG) has launched the ROG Xbox Ally and ROG Xbox Ally X handheld gaming consoles in the Philippines, marking a major step forward in portable gaming that merges the best of Xbox and PC experiences.
Developed in collaboration with Xbox, the new ROG Xbox Ally series offers two variants: The base model is powered by an AMD Ryzen Z2 A Processor, designed for high performance with improved energy efficiency, while the higher-end ROG Xbox Ally X features the AMD Ryzen AI Z2 Extreme Processor, delivering enhanced gaming power for more demanding titles.
Both consoles feature a redesigned ergonomic chassis inspired by the Xbox controller, providing improved comfort and control during gameplay.
They come with a 7-inch Full HD IPS display offering up to 500 nits of brightness, protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus and coated with Corning DXC Anti-Reflection technology for better outdoor visibility.
The devices run on Windows 11 and are supported by the ROG Armoury Crate SE platform, optimized for handheld use. The software allows users to navigate system settings and games using the console’s built-in controls, with quick access to customization options via the Xbox button.
The ROG Xbox Ally series also integrates AMD’s latest graphics technologies, including FidelityFX Super Resolution (FSR), Radeon Super Resolution (RSR), and AMD Fluid Motion Frames (AFMF), which enhance frame rates and visual quality.
To ensure a smoother gaming experience, Asus is rolling out a Handheld Compatibility Program that labels titles as Handheld Optimized or Mostly Compatible.
Additionally, the Xbox app will now support advanced shader preloading, reducing game launch times by loading necessary shaders during downloads.
