Unveiled on October 27 at the Shangri-La Plaza, the new system integrates seamlessly with Security Bank’s website and mobile app, allowing credit cardholders to earn, track, and redeem points in real time — all within a unified digital environment.
Through the platform, users can register their credit cards, view transaction histories, and instantly redeem points for cash rebates, eGift vouchers, gadgets, or travel perks.
The program’s backend is powered by automated data analytics, enabling more personalized offers and faster processing of rewards.
A key innovation of BetterBanking Rewards is its interoperability with over 100 global airline and hotel partners, allowing customers to convert points into air miles or hotel credits without leaving the app.
The platform is also built with Mastercard integration, meaning users can earn points from any transaction made at Mastercard-accepting establishments.
“Customers today expect transparency, speed, and control — all powered by digital technology,” said Meri Filart, vice president and head of credit cards at Security Bank.
“BetterBanking Rewards was designed from the ground up to deliver exactly that: a simple, digital-first rewards experience that puts users in charge.”
The BetterBanking Rewards initiative has already gained international recognition, winning accolades from the International Finance Awards, Retail Banker International, and Asian Banking & Finance for its innovation in retail banking technology.
According to Filart, this is just the beginning of a new era for the bank: “BetterBanking Rewards is not just a rewards program — it’s a digital ecosystem that learns from customer behavior and adapts to deliver real value. It’s part of our mission to democratize digital banking for every Filipino.”
