In case you haven’t heard, a new entry phone has come waltzing into town. This is the HONOR X7d. And if you’re familiar with the phone maker’s X lineup, then you’ll know this device is designed to tough it through any weather.
First and foremost, the HONOR X7d is an entry-level device that features a 512GB storage option. That is a lot for a phone at this price range. the It is also water resistant.
Similar to previous HONOR X series, you won’t need a case for the X7d because one of its features is drop resistance. So if the device falls off the side of a table, you can be confident the phone will stay fully intact. Just, take note, it is drop resistance, not drop- or shock- proof. One very bad drop or multiple drops will damage the device eventually.
Under the hood is a Snapdragon 685. Now, I know what you’re all thinking, that’s a chip released a few years ago. That may be the case, but this chip remains a decent performer when booting up some of the most played apps today. It’s powerful enough to run MLBB (also the phone has 120Hz refresh). It’s decent enough to process images from its 108MP main camera (which is coupled with a second camera that uses 2MP). The front 8MP camera is satisfying enough. We have come a long way with smartphone cameras.
The 6500mAh battery is impressive and nice to have around. That is easily one of the biggest batteries there is on a smartphone and it does well in the HONOR X7d. The Snapdragon 685 chip doesn’t drain the battery fast, even if you game with it for hours, you’ll still have plenty left remaining by the time you hit bedtime.
HONOR is an easy choice if you want an affordable device that balances performance and battery life. Gone are the days when entry-level phones couldn’t keep up with the needs of the users. These days, affordable phones are capable enough to run most of them just fine. And the HONOR X7d takes a step farther with water and drop resistances.
